Removes chlorine tastes and odors without electricity or power. Removes sediment, easy to backwash and rinse media clean of sediment with manual valve. All the filter media you need for the system is included. Excellent for use in dechlorinating water and removing many tastes and odors. Much longer life and higher flow rates than carbon filter cartridges. Unlike carbon cartridges which can trap sediment and dirt causing pressure drop these systems can backwash out trapped sediment alleviating pressure drop. Filter tank is certified one piece seamless polyester construction for long life. Rugged Ceramic Disc manual backwash control lasts for many years. Manually operated valve is easy to operate. Just turn to backwash filter media. Non-corrosive high-tech material construction. Manual control valve is easy to operate; just move lever to move to a backwash and then rinse position. For Larger Sizes 1.5 Cf And Up: Higher Flow Rates Are Possible If Contact Time Is Not An Issue.
For Example, To Remove Chlorine Tastes And Odors On City Water, 5 To 8 Gallons Per Minute Per Cubic Foot Of Carbon Works Fine Depending On Chlorine Levels.
However, If You Are Trying To Remove A Particular Chemical Such As PFOS Or Benzene, Lower Flow Rates With Longer Contact Time Are Recommended.
Add KDF Cubes To Extend Life Of Carbon And Achieve Higher Flow Rates
